Leather Shoe Upper Stitcher

This curriculum is designed / developed keeping in view the necessary requirements of market demand by more focusing on practical along with necessarily required theoretical knowledge in order to produce capable and skillful workforce in shoe (Ladies & Gents) Upper Stitching. The objective of this course is to train the student in shoe upper stitching work in footwear sector and self-employment.

• Safety precautions involved during press cutting, skiving, splitting and cutting knives.
• Types of leather and their manipulating.
• Operating different types of stitching machines like Single Needle, Double Needle, skiving, Zig Zag stitching etc.
• Define between different types of leathers.

Skill Competencies:

• Observe all safety precautions about tools and equipment.
• Common maintenance of cutting dies, cutting board, Aluminum Plate etc.
• Collecting work order, collecting leather, cutting dies, bundling the cut components.
• Grinding and sharpening of the skiving m/c knife and Leather board.
• Knowledge to manipulate the leather and cost control.
• Leveling of plastic Teflon board.
• Understands the visual aids for improved sewing.
• Proper use of guides and gadgets.
• Capability to differentiate between different materials.
• Knowledge of stitch and types of the stitch like Chain Stitch and Lock Stitch.
